When I try to type only dots appear. The characters don't appear at all.

Hi Ashley,
This is apparently due to a bug that makes the text appear tiny. I haven't been able to recreate the problem on my end but I'm working with a user that is also experiencing this issue to try to get to the bottom of it.
In the meanwhile, deleting the app from your phone and reinstalling it reportedly fixes the issue. I know it's not ideal but please try this as a stop-gap until I've managed to track down the actual issue.
